Cortney Hartman is a senior specialist in portfolio marketing for Stryker on the Upper Extremities Shoulder line and has been a surgical technologist for more than 18 years, specializing in cardiovascular, thoracic, peripheral vascular, robotic lungs, heart transplants, and ventricular assist devices. She has CST certification with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and is a member of the AST Bylaws, Resolutions and Parliamentary Procedures Committee.
In 2016 Cortney became the first Surgical Technology Educator for the Parkview Health System in Northeast Indiana, and in 2019 she finished her MBA with a focus in Healthcare Management and joined the Advanced Medical Simulation Lab at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation to develop a surgical simulation program. She was also an instrumental part of the team who worked to achieve American College of Surgeons Accredited Education Institute (AEI) accreditation for the Advanced Medical Simulation Lab. Cortney was awarded the Association of Surgical Technology’s FAST designation in 2021. Cortney has held academic appointments with five local colleges/universities and enjoys serving on professional committees, volunteering in her local community, and presenting abstracts on the topics of surgical safety and simulation.
