Felicia McGhee, MS, BA, CST, is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has been a Surgical Technologist since 2004, currently serving as one of the Clinical Instructors with the Surgical Technology Program at Baton Rouge Community College. She has experience in Ambulatory, Level 1, Labor and Delivery units at private and teaching facilities, first love is orthopedics but a nice day in plastics days gives me the same joy. Growing up she wanted to be a Psychiatrist, a Nurse, and a Physician Assistant.  After moving to several military installations with her family, she became a Surgical Technologist and Educator by chance. McGhee’s education journey started with a technical certificate in Medical Office Assisting, and she now holds a Bachelors in Child and Family Studies, a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology, and is currently completing a Doctoral Degree in Education Technology.   “I have used each educational level to grow.  Each of these degrees have been accomplished while working full-time and raising four children.   I am not on the path I had originally started out, but I learned that I am on a path far more important and one I was called to be on.  I have also learned that achieving one goal is simply the start of a new one.  I am not finished learning or growing so I always look forward to where I am called to be.”
