Jerad Claytor, MSHE, CST

Jerad Claytor, MSHE, CST, is an experienced surgical technology educator, program director, and healthcare professional with a background in program development, accreditation, curriculum design, and clinical education. He has been teaching and serving in academic leadership roles since 2018 and currently serves as the Program Director of Surgical Technology at South College – Columbus.

Prior to and alongside his work in education, Jerad worked clinically as a surgical technologist at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, with experience in Neurosurgery and Hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. His clinical background continues to shape his approach to education, emphasizing patient safety, professionalism, technical competency, and student preparation. He earned his Master of Science in Higher Education with a focus on Leadership from Purdue University.

Jerad serves on the Board of Directors for the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA). He has also served on the EdAccred Management Board and ARC/STSA Newsletter Committee, supporting the advancement of surgical technology education and the profession.
