Kristy Pierce, BS, CST

Kristy Pierce is the accreditation manager for the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Prior to joining ARC/STSA, Kristy worked as a full-time faculty member at Pittsburgh Technical College, Oakdale PA, for 13 years in Surgical Technology and Allied Health Science education. From 2012-2016 Kristy served as the clinical coordinator before accepting the responsibilities as program director and Academic Chair for the School of Healthcare from 2016-2023, prior to coming to ARC/STSA. She enjoys applying all her experience in previous endeavors to assist with site visits and assisting with accreditation inquiries for more than 400 surgical technology and surgical assisting programs across the country.

Kristy’s career began at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, then continued in her technical advancement as a surgical technologist at UPMC Shadyside specializing in neurosurgery.

In her spare time, you can find Kristy alongside her husband at the theater, volleyball court or baseball field, supporting their 2 children.
