Lacie Couzin, PhD, RN

Dr. Lacie Couzin has dedicated 35 years to education, blending her expertise in education, instructional design, and healthcare. Her journey began in K-12 music education before transitioning into nursing.

Dr. Couzin’s healthcare career began at Kosair Children's Hospital, where she spent a decade in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit providing compassionate, specialized care to congenital heart patients as a bedside nurse and ECMO Specialist. During this time, she also taught as an adjunct faculty, and eventually full-time at Ivy Tech Community College.

Beyond Ivy Tech, Dr. Couzin serves on multiple boards, including the National Network of Health Career Programs in Two-Year Colleges (NN2) and the Southern Indiana Health Foundation Board. She also serves as a Commissioner and Board Member for CAAHEP, and she supports professional development within the Kentucky chapter of the National Speakers Association, where she coordinates the ProSpeaker Academy.

Dr. Couzin holds a BS in K-12 Instrumental Music Education from Ball State University, an MS in Secondary Education from Indiana University, an AS in Nursing from Ivy Tech State College, and a PhD in Education specializing in Instructional Design from Capella University.
