Melanie Perry, BSN, RN, CNOR-ORTHO, CSSM, is an OR Nurse who is passionate about helping others learn the 'why' behind the things that we do. When we understand why, we're more likely to do things the right way. She has 22 years of experience as an RN and has worked in Neonatal ICU, Mother/Baby, Med/Surge, Pain Management, and the Operating Room. When Melanie started working in the OR in 2011, she finally found her calling. It is definitely a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, and she loves every minute of it.

Melanie is the co-founder and Chief Nursing Officer of First Case Media. Their educational podcast reaches everyone in the perioperative world with relevant conversations about the topics that are important to the operating room. Through their podcast and social media channels, they are committed to bringing together the people, processes, and products that are moving the perioperative industry forward.

She is involved with the AORN e-Chapter and has served on the Board of Directors since 2023. Melanie is also currently serving as a member of the 2024-2025 AORN Nominating Committee.
