Michael Miller: After serving 19 years on the faculty of the Creighton University Paramedicine Program, Mike joined the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) as Assistant Director. In this role Mike shares his experiences as a former program director and teacher with over 700 paramedic programs in the United States. While at Creighton Mike attained the rank of associate professor. He has practiced as a paramedic and registered nurse, and held positions as paramedic shift supervisor, field training officer, quality improvement coordinator, EMS system program director, and trauma program coordinator. Other professional activities included Site Visitor for the Committee on Accreditation for EMS Programs, and gubernatorial appointment to the Nebraska Board of EMS. Mike has served as a former member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of EMS Educators and the CoAEMSP. Internationally Mike has worked on EMS related projects in Trinidad and Tobago and Saudi Arabia. Mike has served as a contributing author and reviewer for several EMS publications. Numerous conference presentations and workshops have been facilitated by Mike, focusing on clinical, leadership, and educational topics. Additional national projects include appointment to the National EMS Scope of Practice Model, Subject Matter Expert Panel, and several National Registry of EMTs projects including the Paramedic Practice Analysis. Educational accomplishments include Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership, Bachelor of Science in EMS, and a Master of Science Degree in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, all from Creighton University.
