TC Parker, BS, CST, FAST, is the Program Director for Surgical Technology at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where she has taught for 23 years. She completed her Surgical Technology training at Gwinnett Technical College in 1996 and became a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). She went on to earn her Associate in Surgical Technology, and then Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management. She was inducted as a Fellow of the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) in 2016. She was nominated for the Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year at GTC several years from 2006 to present, and in 2016 was chosen as the college winner.  During the state competition, she went on to win the region and came in runner-up in the state.

Parker has held several seats on the Georgia State Assembly of AST and currently serves as President. Parker is the chairperson for the GASA Legislative Committee seeking mandatory certification in the state of Georgia. Parker just finished a seven-year term on the AST National Education and Standards Committee and sat on the Core Curriculum revision committee for the new seventh core curriculum recently released this year.
